Return and Refund Policy

Please inspect your order when you receive it and contact us at help@bookgrocer.com within 30 days if there is a problem with your order as outlined below. 

If you have received items that are damaged or incorrect please send us some photographs of the damage and we'll assess this for a refund. 

If you receive a Book Box with duplicate titles in it we will refund you the value of one of the duplicates. The refund is calculated as a proportion of the number of books in the box. 

We offer change of mind refunds in certain situations. Please get in touch at help@bookgrocer.com to let us know the circumstances of your request and we will do our best to help. 

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package back to us. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.  

Please note: If an item you ordered is unavailable we will refund this item and send the rest of your order. We aim to process orders as fast as possible, so it may have already shipped before you receive the refund notification email.

Remainder Marks - Our books are remainders which means that they occasionally have a small mark at the base of the book.  This is one reason our prices are so low and this is clearly disclosed on each product page. 

Mystery Boxes We do our best to ensure that our Mystery Boxes contain books selected from a wide range of categories.  There may be books you are not interested in, simply because the box contains books from many categories. We generally ask that you purchase a Mystery Box only if you are prepared to accept this; we have other Book Boxes with the contents listed which are better for those who prefer certainty about what they are getting!  

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards. 

Refunds are processed on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take a few days for the funds to reappear in your account or credit card.
